 Adare, Co Limerick

Dear Club Members

2012 sees the 15th anniversary of Porsche Club Ireland and our Annual Dinner will be the event to kick off a year of celebration and activities.

Where else should we decide to celebrate this special milestone than Shannonside and the home of Munster Rugby. We’re delighted to offer you the opportunity to join us in Adare, Co. Limerick on the weekend of Saturday 24th March 2012.

Situated in the south west of Ireland, Adare is regarded as being one of Ireland's prettiest and most picturesque villages, and is a haven for those wishing to escape and unwind taking in its medieval surroundings. Situated on the river Maigue, a tributary of the river Shannon, Adare is steeped in history dating back to 1200ad. The village has been the subject of many rebellions, wars and conquests, leaving behind a legacy of historical monuments. In the early 19th century, the Earl of Desmond, laid the plan for the existing streets and townhouses of Adare as you see them today.

We have decided to make the Dunraven Arms Hotel our base for the weekend and the venue for our annual dinner. Once again we hope that members will take the opportunity to come and stay one or two nights and spend time with your PCI friends.

The Dunraven Arms is renowned as one of the finest 4 star hotels in the country. Originally an Old Coach House this hotel has been welcoming guests for over 200 years and has retained its charming old-world atmosphere while offering all the facilities you would expect.

We plan an interesting and exciting weekend with a drive on the Saturday and the Sunday. It is expected to start the drives at midday each day, which with recent motorway improvements will mean it's easy reach for those who will be joining us on Saturday. There is no official plan for Friday but you can bet the advance troops will be doing a recce of all what Adare has to offer like the Lena’s or Sean Collins’s!

Finally, Porsche Club Ireland will be offering all fully paid up members who book by 10th March the chance to win one of 5 prizes of €100 towards their weekend, which will be drawn from a hat at the Gala Dinner. And if that is not enough, we will be also offering 5 more prizes of €50 towards your weekend. Remember you must book by Thursday 10th March to be included in the draw. To be eligible for these prizes you must stay at least one night.

This is your chance to enjoy your Porsche, meet old and new friends, other owners and their Porsches and to show your support for the club. Looking forward to seeing you there!
