PorscheClub Open Day Cork 15th October 2011

Porsche Club Ireland held its October Committee meeting in Cork to coincide with the open day. 24 cars and 40 people and a number of children attended the event at Viaduct Bar Bandon Rd.,Cork.

Des Golden, Cork's Independent Porsche Specialist spoke to the group for 90 mins on the issues that need to be addressed on the full range of Porsche cars and he demonstrated his mobile computer fault finder on a number of cars. Back in his workshop Des has the latest up to date Diagnostic equipment on the market. There is no fault that he cannot daignose and repair. His mantra on all Porschres is not to skimp on lubrication and change oil every 6000 miles and not to follow the advise on service manuals of extended oil changes. The majority of issues on modern car engines is related to lack of protection on engine internals due to worn out oil. So take this advise on board. A Big thanks to Des for his time and advise. Des can becontacted at 021/4867888, email des@goldens.ie or Des Golden Services.

Our Ex President Ted Gaffney is the Autoglym Distributor for Ireland and he brought his mobile sales unit and gave a full demonstration of all the Autoglym products on the market. This was a enjoyable and educational session watching all the products performing magic results on Mick Burkes 993. Autoglym products are water soluble and do not harm the environment. Ted, many thanks for your input to a most enjoyable day. Autoglym products are available from all leading motor accessory shops.

We raffled Autoglym Products donated by Ted and rides in Dave Whelans GT3, BillCashmans 997 Turbo, Neil Lanes 996 Turbo, and my 944 Turbo and Martini 911SC. A special thanks to General manager Alan and staff of the Viaduct Bar for refreshments and the use of the lounge and car park.

A special thanks to the Committee for travelling to Cork for this event.
