We arranged to meet at Topaz Frankfield Service Station, Kinsale Rd., Roundabout 10.30am. 22 cars came on the run. We had cars and people from Drogheda, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Wexford, Kerry, Tipperary and Cork. Our 1st stop was a Ford Model T collection in Little Island, owned by Bill Cuddy. Bill asked his 2 friends from the Irish Model T Club Tim Keane and Matt Byrne to give the group a talk on the history and mechanical side of Model T. It was a very interesting visit and out thanks to Bill, Tim and Matt for the presentation. The group also had the opportunity to view Club President’s Dave Whelan’s ex factory 993 Racecar that is leading its class in Porsche GB Championship. We then travelled to Foleys on The Green in Lismore for lunch via Midleton and Tallow. After lunch we went through the famous V in the Knochmealdown Mountains to Clogheen and Ardfinnin and on to Clonmel Park Hotel for afternoon tea. The weather was awful and the beautiful scenery was blotted out by the low cloud and fog. Michael Burke was our judge and we presented prizes to Best Vintage to Garret Dee Cork for his 1973 911s Targa, Best Classic to Niall and Linda O Keeffe, Leamlara, Midleton for their 1985 911sc and best late model 911 to Donal Daly, Dublin for his 996 Turbo. My sincere thanks to everybody for travelling long distances and the local owners for their support and trust you enjoyed the run. A big thanks to Station Manager Keith Ryan for use of the station forecourt.

We hope this is the start of regular runs in Munster. I also asked those who attended for their ideas for future runs, visits and activities. Please forward your thoughts to me at info@collinsbb.com or text on 086/0482792.

Regards

Denis Collins
