11 cars assembled at Topaz Service Station Kinsale road Cork . Club President Dave Whelan gave us the starter gun and we took the scenic route to Duhallow, Nadd , Banteer, Kiskeam, Ballydesmond and on to Casleisland. We gave the hillclimb in Ballyfinane a skip due to poor weather and went on to Killarney where the weather turned sunny for lunch at Molly Darcy’s Pub at Mucross Park Hotel where we looked at Hungarian F1 GP and had lunch in the Patio.

When our appatites were satisfied we took the very famous Molly Gap route to Kenmare. The road has very special significance to Porsche as some of the most memorable rally driving seen in Ireland took place on this special stage during the Circuit Of Ireland in the 80’s where Billy Coleman and Ronan Morgan piloted the Rothmans 911SC RS. We stopped for pictures and continued on to Kenmare in beautiful sunshine. We then travelled on to Kilgarvan, Ballyvourney, Macroom and back to Cork and travelled 176 miles in total.

Kieran and Lida Twomey and Pat and Meg Cunningham deserve special mention as they were travelling to UK later that night.

Due to holidays we will not have a drive in august but hope to be back on the road with some interesting activity in September.

Big thanks to everybody who travelled and hope you will bring some of you friends on future activities and drives.
