After some patchy interest the Cayenne June 07 EMR saw a small but dedicated crew join the 911 Turbo EMR. Nine vehicles in total - 3 Cayennes, 5 911 Turbo's and a 928 - braved Melbourne's cool winter temperatures assembling at PCM for 7.00am departure.

The run took us to Healesville via Eltham, Kinglake and Toolangi and once in Healesville a loop of a local road before sitting down to a country style breakfast at the Harvest Cafe to chat about the morning's driving among other topics.

Could the Cayenne's keep up with their lighter brethren? Absolutely!

The run included many tight twisting roads as we made our ascent through the outer Melbourne suburbs on our way to Kinglake. The driving was challenging as visibility was hampered by thick fog.

With lights ablaze the tight corners split the group in two and upon arrival at Kinglake the visibility was down to approximately 40 metres. After some groping around in the cold grey mist the group was reunited and we made our way to Toolangi and Healesville. The descent was challenging with damp roads and tight corners but provided plenty of opportunity for drivers to enjoy the Porsche engineering.

There were a few challenging moments for most drivers and these made healthy conversation topics at the breakfast pit-stop. Overall, a great time was had by all with the opportunity to meet new people who share a passion for driving a common and enjoyable theme. The group disbanded at about 10.30am to enjoy the rest of their Sunday!

Don't miss our next EMR!
