The "Drive For Life" Touring Assembly is on again this year, with a fantastic day out driving some very good roads and ending with a raved about social luncheon, where a charity auction is conducted to raise funds for materials used in Suicide Prevention Education in Victoria.

A great Fathers' Day activity that can give Dad a fun day out in his trusty steed, and he can bring the whole family along if they want to come as well! Come and drive some of the best roads around the Yarra Valley and NE Melbourne area.

This year the event forms part of the Historic Rally Association (HRA) Touring championship and is set to be a great event. The course will be set with the championship in mind, but will also be suitable for the first timer as well.

Drive For Life is open to all cars that are road registered, and there are no special requirements regarding attire. In the past we have had Ferrari 458s, a Cobra, some Porsches (old and newer models) Mercedes, Buick, and a great assortment of rally cars and concourse cars together with daily drive cars. Quite a mixture, and lots of fun!

The course notes (route charted) can be set in either kilometers or miles, depending on the age of the car and the style of odometer it has.

Limited to 50 entries, DFL is gaining a good following and early entry would be advisable.

Entry to the event is via the website www.driveforlife.net.au. Expressions of interest are invited now and further info will be coming in the next few days.

The entry fee is $100 per driver+navigator, with $20 per passenger. Funds go to the Drive For Life Suicide Prevention Education Association to assist in education relating to Youth Suicide in Victoria. Our aim is to raise between ten and fifteen thousand dollars to supply materials for the approx 150 seminars held each year. Your entry will help young people in Victoria see that suicide is a very permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Love to hear from you soon,

Ian Young
