Driver Training

In the interests of encouraging our members to develop better driving skills which might hopefully lead to more competition entrants and also an enhanced level of competition we have kicked off our first driver training session early in the year at the ever popular and readily accessible Sandown track.

All PCV members with an interest in becoming more skilled in handling our high performance vehicles are encouraged to enter and get the opportunity to experience professional tuition from highly accomplished track drivers and at the same time have the opportunity to mix and talk with our regular PCV competition entrants.

Similar to very successful prior events, high performance driving theory will be delivered by Dean Sammut, a professional driver training instructor and Victorian Manager of John Bowe Training. The event is supported by John Bowe Driver Training, who are providing the instructors at a ratio of 1 to every 4 driver trainees.

After registration and scrutineering, trainees will be given a comprehensive briefing by the John Bowe staff on the techniques of high performance driving including car control, track awareness and corner lines followed by a corner by corner track inspection prior to being matched with an instructor and starting their actual on track instruction.

Trainee participants will get an approximate 30 minute track session each hour up to 4.30pm, with a break for lunch around 12.30.

If this is your first time on the track you will be especially welcome, or if you are looking to get some track time with instruction, there will be a place for you.

If you are not a current PCV member, click here for a registration page.

Untimed Open Practice

In addition the club will run an untimed practice group. Limited to 20 participants this group will also get an initial 30 minute session followed by an approximate 15 minute session every 45 minutes.

Instructors will not be provided for untimed practice entrants.

This is just the thing to prepare for the club sprint at Sandown on the Sunday 23rd February.

Lunch and morning tea will be provided to all entrants (both driver training and open practice).

Entry Fees - Training $375, Practice $200. Additional late fee applies to entries after 12th February.
