Like many re-births of classic Porsche 356 sports cars this has been a long, exacting and at times painful process. Chassis number 108621,“Ruby59” as she is now known probably started existence in May1959 at Zuffenhausen in Stuttgart in the same week as Car No 5 in Graham Lister’s Porsche 356 book ‘The Twenty’, which has chassis number 108630. This was also a ruby red 356 T2 Coupe but was a specially ordered Carrera GT one of only three built in RHD. This car came to Auckland in November 1959 for Ron Butler, who raced the car extensively.
