Manfeild: Jon Waring's Report

Again the weather was fine for Round 6 at Manfeild , and we had some very close racing. All drivers have now shown that they have come to grips with their cars and are now getting the best out of them, with most doing personal best times during the weekend.

Unfortunately I could not stay for Race 3 on Sunday as I had to go to the Airport to fly home (most unusual to have Sundays race at 4pm).

Having just downloaded the Mylaps result of this race, I note that in Class B both Struan R (928S)and Chris T (3.2 Carrera) both broke the magic 1.20.000 time with Chris managing a -1.19.695 whilst chasing Struan; - 1.19.715 with John Welten close behind in his 968 -1.20.284

My condolences go to Brent Greer who dropped an inlet valve after #1 valve spring retainer broke on lap 3 of the Handicap Race 2 on Sunday morning and could then not compete in Race 3. Amazingly he was still doing 1.21.00 laps on 5 cylinders!

With 6 rounds to date, the leaders are Ian Hayr leading (MotorSport) and Kevin Etches for Bridgestone points.

Cheers, Jon.
