‘Prelude to Spring Run’

Provenance Winery, Fyansford

Sunday 26th August 2018

Our Spring Run has been brought forward to allow for a busy calendar of events later in the year so let's hope we bring forward the warmer spring weather too!

Our ‘Prelude to Spring Run’ will take us to Provenance Winery in the newly restored historic paper mill at Fyansford near Geelong.

The run will start from the Diggers Rest CFA where morning tea will be provided and then proceed on some great driving roads of approx 150km through country Victoria before arriving at Fyansford in time for lunch around 1pm.

Provenance Winery is in a restored bluestone building from the 1870s with our event being held in The Barrel Room, also dubbed an industrial cathedral, which used to house the 100 foot long paper making machine.  This room looks over Buckley Falls on the Barwon River and at one end into The Winery room which holds tanks and other wine making equipment, ensuring an authentic winery experience.

Lunch will consist of canapés, with a chance to chat and have a glass of wine with a variety of finger food. This will be followed by a main course (choice of two) and dessert. All food will be provided by Truffleduck who have established a reputation in the Geelong area for the quality and presentation of their food. Not to be missed.

A little extra attraction to the venue is that there are various artists studios around the winery that attendees are free to visit if they would like to after lunch.

Return drive to Melbourne is an easy 60 minutes along the Geelong Ring Road and Princes Highway, while for our Geelong members it's only 10 minutes to the Geelong CBD.
