BOXSTER/CAYMAN AUTUMN WEEKEND ESCAPE TO PORT CAMPBELL – 30th & 31st MAY 2015

At the request of some of our members, Wayne and I have organised a weekend away to the always beautiful Great Ocean Road, the Otway’s and Port Campbell.

After meeting on the Princes Freeway to Geelong, we will make our way to the coast travelling South West through lovely countryside and by great roads.

We will stop at Deans Marsh for a coffee break at the “Martians” Cafe, then we will be on our way through Apollo Bay, then a light lunch at the Aire Valley Guests House, a very picturesque cottage amongst hills rolling to the Ocean.

After lunch, we are leaving the afternoon up to you. You can just drive from there to Port Campbell, check in the Loch Ard Motor Inn and have a rest. Some of you may like to stop on the way to admire the 12 Apostles or visit one of the many attractions nearby.

For those interested in having a drink before dinner, the Hotel across the road from the Motor Inn has a great view across the bay, you will probably find us there around 6:00PM.

Dinner has been booked for 7:00PM at the Waves Restaurant across from the Motor Inn entrance where a 3 courses meal will be served.

The Motor Inn does not serve breakfast as there are some venues in walking distance that will serve you a deliciously cooked one, but if you like to bring your own (cereals/bread for toast), the rooms have been recently refurbished and include a kitchenette with a small microwave oven.

Some have indicated that they wanted to stay on the Sunday night, so this option is available, either way, we have planned a great run through the Otway’s to Colac on the Sunday morning, stopping there for coffee, and then onto the Otway Fly Treetop Adventures near Beech Forest for those who would enjoy this attraction, for the others there are also some interesting walks to do in the area as well.

We are thinking having lunch in nearby Ferguson as there are a couple of really nice spots to choose from but we will discuss it at Port Campbell with the people staying the extra night, the same for dinner on Sunday night.

Once again, what you do for the rest of the day is your choice.

For those heading home on Sunday, you can join us for part (Colac is on Princes Highway) or all of this or take you own way home via some other attractions.
