993 & 964 Spring Run to Marnong Estate, Mickleham

Sunday 27th October 2019

Welcome to our 993/964 Spring Run through some stimulating and gloriously scenic Victorian countryside. Starting at McDonalds East Doncaster we will stop for morning tea at the Flying Tarts bakery and café at Pheasant Creek and then continue north, skirting Kinglake National Park to make our way down to our luncheon destination at Marnong Estate in Mickleham at their new Bankvale Run Restaurant.

Marnong Estate focuses on sustainability and protecting the rich history of its homestead.

It started off as a portion of a run called Bank Vale, which was held in the 1840s by William John Turner Clarke who within two decades amassed a freehold title of more than 100,000 acres. The land comprised of undulating open pastures and was well suited for sheep. Today it’s an integrated heritage resort facility, vineyard, brewery and agribusiness.
