This world renowned tarmac rally has been held each year in Tasmania for the past 20 years. Over that time , the Porsche marque has been extremely well representing with a number of class wins. Club members have participated as drivers and navigators and in 2011 several members participated in the very special "tag along" tour , marking 60 years of Porsche in Australia.
As club members we feel privileged to have the fabulous TT roads at our private disposal - except when the stages are closed for Targa! The terrain is stunning and varied - and the plethora of twisty bits ideally match the capabilities of our targa-bred road cars. Those of us fascinated by the deep racing heritage of our brand always associated the Targa Tasmania with this famous race , sadly no longer held:
The Targa Florio & Porsche : great success!
Club President John Pooley is a TT Hall of famer and legend (2008); current members Gary Cannan and Bob White have plied their craft at the event and are willing to share "How to" information with any interested member.
