CAVALLI OUTING   7TH APRIL 2019                                                   Enver Deedat

It was a beautiful winters morning when 20 couples gathered at 9:30 am at the Engen 1 stop garage for our first official Porsche Club run of 2019 to the amazing Cavalli Equestrian and Wine Estate.

There were lots of new faces meaning lots of new introductions and it was quite a challenge remembering the new names. Of course, with many new faces came brand new Porsches. The Engen 1 Stop parking lot looked quite a thrilling site much to the admiration of the general public passing through. It was filled with a GT2, GT3's, a GT4, the ever popular GTS's, a few 911 Carrera’s, a Turbo , Cayman and Boxster, a 944 and even a 356.

After a quick Wimpy breakfast, we held our drivers briefing and then set off. Allan and Monique Allschwang lead the way in his new GT2 and was quickly followed by the ever-enthusiastic Michelle Hamby-Grobler in her GT4 ready for the challenge.

Our drive took us along the N1 towards Paarl then en-route past Wemmershoek dam to Franschhoek and Hells Hoogte into Stellenbosch.

From Stellenbosch our convoy cruised into Cavalli Estate at 12 noon.

Preparations were all set. Some enjoyed the gallery and sports memorabilia while +-20 club members headed for the wine cellar and enjoyed the wine tasting.

Around 1'oclock all fuelled up, we then gathered in the conservatory and enjoyed each other’s company over a three-course lunch.

Cavalli never ceases to amaze guests with their fine dining experience. This was clearly evident with the great food and the comments floating around on the day.

After lunch some guests chose to leave and head on home and

as usual the regulars decided to have a toot too many and only left Cavalli around 6:30pm.

It was a great end to a fantastic Sunday.
