PCQ Motorsport News: 2014 Motorsport Calendar
As we plan the 2014 motorsport calendar it is obvious to us that due to falling numbers and rising venue costs changes will be inevitable.

The club was able to negotiate an agreement with QR in 2013 that enabled members to participate at a subsidised rate for most of the year; the continuation of this agreement was subject to the numbers increasing which has not eventuated.

As such we will return to the standard rates, which at present numbers of participants would not be viable under our present structure.

There are several options open to us which include having Porsche run groups with other QR and Morgan Park events, and combining with other clubs and providers to gain sufficient numbers, and we are currently exploring these options. We will also be exploring avenues to provide our newer participants with a more structured path to achieving the best from their cars and enjoying the experience and moving towards a safer environment in which to conduct sprints and passenger rides. We will also be looking at the introduction of new events within the calendar that may suit a greater cross section of members.

It is proposed to conduct a survey of members in the coming weeks to gauge support or otherwise for motorsport and we would encourage you to participate in this.

The success or otherwise of the coming year will depend of the support of members not only in the attendance of events but through the formation and support of a Motorsport subcommittee.
The club meeting on the 12 of November will be critical in shaping the direction and future of Motorsport in our club and you are encouraged to attend.

Should you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact me.

NSW Police Force continues with Porsche
Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) and the NSW Police Force have jointly elected to continue the Force’s community engagement program well into 2014.

The trial, which began 12 months ago year when Porsche loaned a Panamera to the NSW Police to use as a means to engage the community, has been so successful both organisations see merit in continuing the program for a further 12 months – this time with Porsche loaning the latest Panamera 4S, featuring a twin turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine and all-wheel drive.
