Following the overwhelming success of four consecutive Shanghai Drives, the Club heard your suggestion and made an effort to bring you something completely afresh this year— a Chengdu Drive!!

The Chengdu Drive this year will take place between 5th November (Thursday) and 10th November (Tuesday). We will take you to new cities through completely new driving routes. You will be stopping at Chenzhou (郴州), Kaili (凱裏) and Chongqing (重慶) along the way before arriving at Chengdu in the afternoon of 8th November (Sunday). Then on the entire following day, you will be driving your Porsches on the Chengdu International Circuit, one of the circuits for the A1GP 2008/09 season. On 10th November (Tuesday), you can fly back from Chengdu to either Hong Kong or Shenzhen (air ticket is not included and participants will need to make their own travel arrangements) while your car will be transported back to Shenzhen. All participants are required to travel to Shenzhen on 14th November (Saturday) to pick up their Porsches. Transportation will be arranged on the day of pick up and further details regarding the same will be announced in due course.

The tentative fee for this event is HK$38,000 (final price subject to sponsors’ confirmation) for each vehicle with one driver. Additional fee for each passenger is HK$2,000 for share room with driver and $5,800 with single room. Please note that this fee is only possible subject to the successful support of various sponsorships. As such, promotional stickers are required to be stuck on the participating cars and participants shall attend certain functions, such as, dining events, during the Drive. Details of the itinerary will be announced as soon as they have been finalised.

Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis (subject to priorities being given to existing members) and only upon receipt of the full payment which is non-refundable unless (i) the final price is higher than that indicated above or (ii) the event cannot proceed as scheduled. The final decision lies with the Committee in case of any dispute. Furthermore, in view of the long drive which could potentially cause mechanical problems, only Porsches manufactured in 1992 or thereafter will be considered to participate in the Drive.

So why waste more time? Pick up your pen now and fill out the application form and send it together with all the necessary documents and a cheque made payable to Porsche Club Hong Kong Ltd. at Room A1, 12/F, Kee Wah Industrial Building, 666 Castle Peak Road, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon no later than 21st August, 2009 (Friday).
